Another example of successful obtaining of EU citizenship under an accelerated program is the case of our client Sergey, a design engineer from Yekaterinburg. At the time he approached the company, Sergey was 38 years old. He was married and was raising two small children, to whom he wanted to give the very best in life.
Before contacting us, Sergey had studied different directions of immigration to the EU, but quickly realized that most countries offer fairly lengthy procedures — first a residence permit, then permanent residence, and only after 7–10 years a passport. Such a scenario did not suit him.
We told Sergey in detail about the possibility of obtaining Bulgarian citizenship under an accelerated procedure. By participating in it, he could, within only one and a half years, become a full citizen of the European Union and ensure the obtaining of second passports for his family members.
The work began with an analysis of the documents already available and the prompt restoration of those lost. We assisted the client in successfully completing the legalization procedure for all certificates, questionnaires, and records, and also arranged the submission of the citizenship dossier to the Bulgarian state authorities.
After registration of the dossier with the Ministry of Justice, Sergey was issued a citizenship certificate, and somewhat later he obtained Bulgarian documents. At that point, his family members could also obtain citizenship under an accelerated procedure. The move became a real event for the family from Yekaterinburg — they even held a small celebration to which they invited us online.
Sergey’s children are now already studying at a Bulgarian school in Plovdiv. According to him, adaptation went quite quickly: the pupils have a good level of English, and owing to the friendly atmosphere, the children found friends literally in the first weeks. The design engineer’s wife began studying Bulgarian and plans in the future to open a small family business. Sergey himself continues to work in an international company — European citizenship has become a serious career advantage for him, since it allows him to travel freely throughout all EU and Schengen countries.
Sergey’s story demonstrates that the accelerated procedure for obtaining Bulgarian citizenship is a real opportunity for families wishing to change their lives for the better without years of waiting. Owing to our support, the client obtained European citizenship within a short timeframe, avoided bureaucratic delays, and was able to take his career to a new level.
